I completed the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture in 2022 in Gurteen College after completing the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture in 2021. I specialised in Drystock Management.

The course was recommended to me by friends. The majority of the learning is practical with chances to work on farm doing live demos. I found this very helpful and benefited greatly from carrying out tasks that I had never gotten to do on my home farm.

My favourite thing about Gurteen is how helpful the staff are. Smaller groups mean that you can ask plenty of questions. Staff are very approachable to ask for advice.

In our groups as part of the course we were asked to carry out charity events for local charities. I enjoyed the way each group supported each other and will have fond memories of this.

I would happily recommend the course to young people who want to learn more about agriculture.
