The minimum entry requirement for the PME in Primary Education is a H4 in Leaving Certificate Irish.  There are courses which might be accepted in lieu of this (click here to view and select Meánleibhéal B2).

The most popular option with candidates who do not meet the Irish requirement is to re-sit the Leaving Certificate Exam. If you are interested in pursuing this option, you should contact your local college of further education to inquire about registering to sit the exam and to avail of tuition, if they offer it.  Alternatively, you could secure a grinds teacher and ask the Principal of the secondary school you attended if you could sit the Irish Oral and the Irish Exam in that school.

If you do not want to re-sit the leaving certificate exam, then you would need to do the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) Leibhéal B2 (Meánleibhéal 2) as listed above.
