Defence Forces Looking for Apprentice Aircraft Technicians

Oglaigh na hEireann / The Irish Defence Forces have launched their recruitment drive for trainee Aircraft Technicians.

These technicians provide the maintenance and servicing of Air Corps aircraft, their airframes, engines, systems and equipment.

The Air Corps is seeking young, enthusiastic and technically minded individuals who are looking for the opportunity not just to learn a new trade but also practice it in challenging situations.

Trainee Technicians undergo their academic training at the Technical Training School, located in Casement Aerodrome, the home of the Air Corps.

The training complies with the Technical University Dublin Education awards and graduates of this programme will be eligible for a Bachelor of Engineering in Military Aviation Technology. Successful candidates, upon qualification, will also receive Solas accreditation and an EASA Part 66 Category B licence.

Candidates for this programme must be between 18 and 23 years of age when applications close on March 31st.
