Working Life
The Makeup Trainee supports senior team members, sets up and maintains workstations, and learns on the job through observation and hands-on assistance in a creative film/TV environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the makeup assistant and the make-up artist to carry out various tasks.
- Through their training, they have the opportunity to enter the film industry and learn within this creative environment.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining make-up work stations and learning on the job through observing and assisting more senior members of the department.
- Apply makeup for crowd scenes.
- Assist with actor’s makeup, if necessary.
- Learn how to read and break down a script, understand continuity, and how a film-set operates and the various etiquettes involved.
