Working Life

Pipeline Technical Directors are responsible for developing and maintaining tools used throughout a VFX or animation production.

Role and Responsibilities 

• Further develop the pipeline to support future productions.
• Maintain existing tools and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Optimise current tools and systems for improved efficiency.
• Provide direct support to artists by resolving pipeline-related problems.
• Liaise with the Technology and R&D departments to communicate potential needs for new tools or technologies.

• Design complex graphics and animation, using independent judgment, creativity, and computer equipment.
• Create basic designs, drawings, and illustrations for product labels, cartons, direct mail, or television.
• Participate in design and production of multimedia campaigns, handling budgeting and scheduling, and assisting with such responsibilities as production coordination, background design, and progress tracking.
