The Work

The Trainee Standby Props works under direction of the Standby Prop, and assists them throughout the course of a production.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that all standby props are available on set or on location, according to the production schedule.
  • Begin working in advance of shooting to assist in making sure that specific props are in the right place, at the right time, for each scene. This is particularly the case for hero props – major props which are crucial to the scene. 
  • Work to production schedule and deadlines.
  • Be prepared to follow instructions accurately and problem solve where required.
