The Work

The main responsibility of the Systems Engineer is to perform hands-on work to ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems related to production, while also contributing to the development of production infrastructure for future work.

Responsibilities include the installation, support, and maintenance of servers and file systems.

The engineer serves as a second line of defence against critical issues that can become production "show stoppers," such as chronic storage problems.

They play a key role in maintaining the performance of all systems and are responsible for network-based installation of widely used artist software.

The systems engineer is also involved in managing critical communication services, including on-site mail servers and network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

A key duty involves developing automated scripts—for example, those that trigger standard event-based system activities.

Additionally, the engineer plays a major role in the efficient planning and management of systems-related projects.
