About Us

Welcome to City of Dublin FET College, Rathmines. We believe that education works best in a space where everyone feels respected, supported, and included. You’ll find us right in the heart of Rathmines, Dublin 6, based in the iconic Town Hall building—just look for the clock tower on the skyline!

Every year, we welcome over 800 students across nearly 40 QQI Level 4, 5, and 6 courses. Whether you're interested in Accounting, Arts, Business, Marketing, Media, Computer Programming, Law, Office Administration, or repeating your Leaving Cert, we have a pathway designed to help you reach your goals.

Why Us?

A Reputation You Can Trust

We’ve been a cornerstone of learning in Dublin since 1902. Over the last century, we’ve built strong links with employers and universities, meaning a qualification from Rathmines College carries real weight when you head into a job interview or apply for further study.

Qualifications that Open Doors

Our courses are fully accredited by Irish and international bodies, including QQI, ACCA, and ATI. You aren't just getting a certificate; you're getting a recognized standard of excellence.

Progression Opportunities

For many of our students, Rathmines is the springboard to university. In 2025, we facilitated progression to 3rd level for a large percentage of our students from our QQI Level 5 and Level 6 courses.

  • Over 50% of our computer programming graduates progressed to Level 8 Computer Science Degree courses
  • UCD Commerce: Our students secured 40% of the places reserved for QQI applicants last year.
  • DCU Marketing Innovation and Technology (MINT): Our Marketing graduates represented one-third of all FET students securing first-year places on this course in 2025

We have also established "Advanced Entry" links with a number of universities. Many of our graduates even receive exemptions from the first year of degree programs!

Practical Experience & Employment

We don’t just teach; we help you get hired. With our Employers Forum and mandatory work experience modules, you’ll build the industry links you need. Our graduate record is fantastic, and employers frequently come to us looking for our alumni.

A Personal Approach
The ethos of the college focuses on the individual needs of each member of our student body. Tutors are given the role of assisting students with both academic and personal progression during their time in the college. Every year our students tell us they choose Rathmines because they know someone who came here before. Graduates spread a positive message about their experiences here and encourage others to apply.
