About Us

Rathmines College promotes and encourages teaching and learning in a supportive, positive and inclusive environment of mutual respect. Rathmines College is located in the heart of Rathmines, Dublin 6 in the Town Hall building. The Town Hall is very visible on the Dublin skyline because of the very tall clock tower.

Rathmines College offers close to 40 QQI Level 4, 5 & 6 Further Education courses covering key areas of Accounting, Arts and Social Science, Business and Marketing, Computer Programming, Legal Studies, Media, Office Administration and Repeat Leaving Cert and attracting close to 700 students each year.

Recognised Qualifications

Rathmines College offers a range of courses from different Irish and internationally recognised educational and professional bodies such as QQI, BTEC, ACCA, ATI.

Progression Opportunities
Taking a course here in Rathmines College is often just the first step for students. Internal progression from QQI Level 5 Awards to Advanced Certificates QQI Level 6 and BTEC Higher National Diplomas for example are a popular option and many external progression links are established and facilitated by the college. Graduates of courses can become eligible for entry to Universities and from some courses receive exemptions onto Degree programmes.
Employment Record
The College tracks graduate progression every year and has evidence of their fantastic record of performance. Employers have a high regard for our qualifications and our graduates. The college assists students in securing relevant employment. Work experience during courses of study also offers opportunities to gain practical experience and develop links with industry. The college has recently established an Employers Forum.
Personal Approach
The ethos of the college focuses on the individual needs of each member of our student body. Tutors are given the role of assisting students with both academic and personal progression during their time in the college. The college provides a library resource centre, a radio studio, state-of-the –art IT facilities, student canteen and a supervised study area.

Clubs & Societies

Extra-curricular activities include soccer, swimming, gaelic football, badminton and table quizzes. Each year the student council develops new activities for students.

Fees and Grants

A full-time QQI Level 5/6 qualification costs €460 per year. Medical card holders are entitled to a €200 reduction. SUSI grants apply for eligible students.

Student Supports

Rathmines College offers a tutoring support service, career guidance and learning supports where required. The college also welcomes and facilitates VTOS and BTE applicants and provides advice and assistance on grant application procedures.

Transport Links

Accessing the college by public transport is made easy with the Luas (Green Line) around the corner and Dublin Bus routes 14s, 15s, 18, 65 and 83. The 83 bus and 142 (direct from Portmarknock) routes bring many students from the other side of the city.
