Munster Technological University is a multi-campus technological university, contributing to the region through the provision of academic programmes that support student development and opportunities, education and research. MTU has an extensive and impressive regional footprint with six campuses across the South-West region in Cork and Kerry, and a student body of 18,000.

Flexibility

We offer the full range of higher education qualifications, including Bachelor degrees, Honours Bachelor degrees, and post-graduate Masters and PhD degrees. MTU Cork has a very well developed 'ladder' structure to enable students to progress through the different levels of qualifications.

Choice

MTU Cork offers 80 courses through the CAO. 53 of these are on the Honours Degree (Level 8) list. It's important to note in addition that there are 26 courses on the Bachelor Degree Level 7 list which have routes of progression to Honours Degree courses at MTU.

MTU Cork is one of the most highly rated higher education colleges in Ireland, both in terms of facilities and in the great student-staff relations due to small class sizes.

Sports Facilities
MTU Cork's excellently prepared sports grounds and facilities played host to numerous competitions throughout the year including schools’ matches, International Cork City Sports, GOAL Mile, Munster Schools & Universities Cross Country Championships. MTU Cork provides training facilities for a number of teams including the Cork Minor Hurlers and Footballers, Cork Ladies Footballers, and is now the training base of the Cork Senior Hurlers.

The MTU Library on the Bishopstown has over 600 study spaces available. The Student Centre has the following student services offices; Medical Centre, Counselling Service, Access Service, Academic Learning Centre, Careers Service, Sports & Societies Offices, Card & Reprographics Service.

The diversity of MTU societies means that practically every taste is catered for. Grab the opportunity to experience something new or pursue an interest you have always wanted to explore. Sports & Fitness

Sport is an integral part of student life in MTU and it greatly enhances the student experience through its vibrant club scene, excellent sports facilities and vast array of opportunities to get involved in physical activity. MTU Sport offers a wide range of sports clubs which cater for both competitive and recreational sport. At MTU we promote a policy of ‘Sport for All’ and our sports facilities are available to all students, from casual participants looking for fitness and fun to elite competitors aiming for national and international success. We organise and coordinate a range of fitness classes, physical activity and health initiatives throughout the academic year such as step challenges, fun runs, indoor cycling, pilates, and bootcamp to name a few.

Accommodation

The Accommodation Office assists students in finding a suitable place to live. The service provides information and guidance to students on the accommodation most appropriate to their needs. Students can phone, call into the office or email for up to date lists and information. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Dining

In the Bishopstown Campus, there are three main catering outlets – the Food Court including the Snack Bar and the Grumpy Mule) and in the Student Centre there is also a Bistro and a Gala Shop.

Fees and Grants

An annual fee set by the Government for the Higher Education Student Contribution is payable to the Institute.

Transport Links

There is a regular bus service from the City Centre and other locations to the Bishopstown Campus.
