MI Architectural Technology, Renewable Technologies, and Engineering Traineeship Learners
The Architectural Technology, Renewable Technologies, and Engineering Traineeship learners recently embarked on their annual visit to the Kingspan IKON Innovation Centre, a beacon of sustainable building practices and cutting-edge technology.
Upon arrival, the group was warmly welcomed by Jeannine, the Events Manager, and Rachel, who guided them through a comprehensive tour of the impressive facility. The learners were divided into two groups to ensure an in-depth exploration of the centre's innovative features.
The visit provided the learners with invaluable insights into the latest advancements in construction technology and the emerging trends being developed in Kingspan's R&D facility. A highlight of the tour was an excellent presentation by Hannah, who showcased the new products currently under testing and development.
The experience was further enriched with refreshments served in the "Future Space" area on the top floor, where the concept of a "live" building was vividly brought to life. Each learner left with a goodie bag, a tangible reminder of their enlightening visit.
Plans are already underway to schedule this visit for the next cohort of students in the 2025/26 academic year, ensuring that future learners will also benefit from this exceptional educational opportunity.
