Study Alternative Health & Wellbeing Therapies at Waterford CFE

Alternative Health & Wellbeing Therapies at Waterford College of Further Education is a full time one year course at Waterford College of Further Education that will lead you to a career in the Leisure, Sport and Fitness and Fashion and Beauty Career Sectors.

Students of this Level 5 course will receive intensive training in holistic therapies from ancient philosophies to modern day teaching, taking a holistic approach to working with the body, mind and spirit. Students will be equipped with the skills not only to guide clients to better health, relaxation and improved well-being but also the know-how to set up their own business.

Upon completion of this course graduates will have the qualifications to travel and be self employed or freelance in hospitals, care centres, spas, health centres and holistic centres, to name but a few.

Modules of study include:

• Holistic Massage
• Reflexology
• Indian Head Massage
• Nutrition
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Business Studies
• Yoga/Meditation (non-certified)

Certifications received once the course is completed:

• ITEC – Diploma in Holistic Massage
• ITEC – Diploma in Reflexology
• QQI – Nutrition Level 5 (5N2006)
• QQI – Indian Head Massage Level 6 (6N3477)

To be eligible for entry students must have completed the Leaving Certificate or Leaving Cert Applied or an Equivalent. Mature are not only welcomed but encouraged to apply.

Students will also have the option to study Reiki Levels 1 and 2 and Crystal Therapy.
