6M5147 - Exercise and Sports Performance is an Advanced course at Drogheda Institute of Further Education. It is a one-year long Level 6 course that will equip students who have successfully achieved a Level 5 QQI award in Sport, Recreation & Exercise or equivalent with further skills and experience in the industry.
This additional course is designed to prepare students for a career in sports coaching, sports performance and the leisure industry. This course also provides a pathway to further study in various related sports degrees. Students who have undertaken the NCEF instructor’s qualification may work directly in the fitness industry as instructors.
Upon completion you will be awarded QQI Level 6 Award in Sports, Recreation and Exercise, aNational Certificate in Exercise & Fitness (NCEF) – Accredited by the University of Limerick, and a Water Safety Ireland Lifeguard Certificate.

Applicants for this course must have successfully achieved a Level 5 QQI award in Sport, Recreation & Exercise or equivalent. Apply directly through the college.

Students can apply for direct entry onto Year 2 Sport, Exercise and Enterprises in DKIT.
