QQI Level 6 - Advanced Certificate in Horticulture

General Information

This course is offered over a 32 week period and will consist of either 24 or 16 weeks of College based course work and 8 or 16 weeks of a practical learning period (PLP) depending on the chosen stream.

Course Modules

Subjects included in the QQI Level 6 course will vary with the stream chosen. Students have the option to select from 4 areas of specific studies Landscaping, Nursery Stock, Sportsturf and Food Production. Students select one stream and take appropriate modules.

Admission, Entry Requirements and Application Procedures

All four streams in the QQI Level 6 in horticulture including Landscaping, Nursery, Food Production and Sports Turf will now run from January 2021 to August 2021.  Each stream will run subject to sufficient numbers. (In the case where a stream does not go ahead a second preference stream will be offered.) The closing date for applications for both full time and component modules for the QQI level 6 in horticulture is 27th of November 2020 at 5pm.  Offers will then be sent out in November to confirm your place.

  • To apply to a level 6 Advanced Certificate in Horticulture a candidate must have a QQI Level 5 in Horticulture.

Cost

Currently the fees for this course are €990.  Where an applicant is the holder of a major award at Level 6 or higher, an additional course charge of €1,000 is applied.  This fee does not include accommodation and food costs.
