Monaghan Institute is a Further Education centre of excellence located in Monaghan town. For over 30 years, Monaghan Institute has been offering an ever-expanding range of further education and training courses to learners from the locality and further afield. Courses available include Digital Media and Web Design, Arts, Teaching and Training, Computer Software and Games Design, Business and Office Administration, Early Learning and Care, Nursing, Healthcare, Applied Social Studies, Travel and Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Engineering, Animal Science, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, plus a suite of very successful Pre-University Programmes. There are over 50 courses to choose from.

In 2025, Monaghan Institute will also be offering the following NEW courses:

• QQI Level 5 EC02 Construction Studies programme, a course ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in the construction industry.
• QQI Level 5 STE4 Pharmacy (Science) programme, a course ideal for those wishing to study pharmaceutical science at degree level.
• QQI Level 5 BSA3 Pharmacy (Retail) programme, a course ideal for those focused on a career within a retail pharmacy.
• QQI Level 6 CM03 Advanced Certificate in Computing programme, a course ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in the computing hardware or software industries.

The College has fully equipped practical rooms, science and IT labs, multi-media laboratories, two hi-spec iMac labs, a Hairdressing Salon, Beauty Therapy rooms, a Dog Grooming Parlour, Nursing Practical room, Electrical and Engineering Workshops.  In addition, there are regular/general classrooms, tiered lecture halls, a library, consulting rooms, and study areas. The Institute also has access to the Garage Theatre on the campus, and shared use of a Sports Hall with a fitness suite.  In summary, it is a first-class facility, which staff and students are delighted to be part of.
