The course will provide an introduction into the basic scientific background, the technical aspects and an understanding of the whole process of brewing and distilling. It will prepare Learners for work as a brewing and distilling technician in a micro-brewery. Additionally, this course enables entry into a first year of a degree course in food science or a science related field within higher education. The course is aimed and designed for learners who may not have studied many science subject previously. It has a large emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that cross both the food and drinks industries, for example, food and drink chemistry, processing, safety and general laboratory skills.
