The Short-Range Radio Operator’s Certificate (SRC) is the basic marine VHF radio operators’ course and is the minimum qualification required by any person operating (or supervising the operation of) a marine VHF radio, whether fixed or hand-held.
The Short-Range Radio Operator’s Certificate (SRC) is for persons operating radios on vessels that are operating only in coastal waters (sea area A1).

Classroom theory in introduction and detail on radio regulations, operations and procedures for VHF radio equipment including DSC, Navtex, EPIRB’s, SART’s, Batteries, and Aerials.
