The overall aim of this programme is to provide learners with the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to achieve the QQI Level 5 component award in Felling and Processing Small Trees, carrying out work-related tasks in the maintenance and operations of a chainsaw, in order to fell and process small trees independently while under general direction, Learners will on completion understand the health and safety requirements in order to complete the process safety ensure all required control measures can be implemented in order to maintain the welfare of them self and others when felling and processing small tress.

Plan a feeling operation, preparing a site for felling
Carry out routine chainsaw prestart checks
Demonstration the correct procedure for preparing a tree
Crosscutting and stacking felled trees
Take down a hung up small tree
Prepare chainsaw for storage including cleaning, sharpening and setting

Naturalist
Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.
Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals.
