Course Summary

Course Category: CAO (Higher Education - HET)

This course provides a solid intellectual foundation in Theology in conjunction with one or two other Arts subjects. A scholarly discipline in the liberal arts, Theology offers the space and skills necessary for asking about, exploring and reflecting on the ultimate questions of existence and life.

International Option -
Bachelor’s in Theology & Arts International (BATh - Int)
This degree is awarded to students who spend one year abroad on an Erasmus+ mobility resulting in their BATh International Degree becoming a four year programme. SPPU has a wide range of partner universities in Europe to which our students are able to apply. Students who take a language as their second subject in their BATh may be required to spend a year or a semester abroad, however the Erasmus+ programme is open to all BATh students and there are a number of universities who teach through the medium of English. All of the BATh International course aims, structure and subject choices mirror those of the BATh MU001 programme in all other respects.

The Student - Career Interests

This course is typically suited for people with the following Career Interests:

Social

The Social person's interests focus on interacting with the people in their environment. In all cases, the Social person enjoys the personal contact with other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.
