Course Summary

The comprehensive curriculum covers not only web development but also mobile app development, ensuring that students are well-versed in creating applications for both web and mobile platforms. From mastering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for responsive web design to delving into server-side technologies and mobile app frameworks, students acquire the technical prowess and project management skills needed to excel in various roles within the dynamic computing industry.

Entry Requirements and Eligibility

Leaving Certificate: A minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades in six Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish.

QQI FET/FETAC Awards are accepted for entry on all courses of study. Please refer to Admissions information for details.

Accreditation and Embedded Awards

Exiting after successfully completing Year 1:
Level 6 Certificate in Computing with AI = 60 ECTS Credits, awarded by the Technological University of the Shannon.

Exiting after successfully completing Year 2:
Level 6 Higher Certificate in Computing with AI = 120 ECTS Credits, awarded by the Technological University of the Shannon.

Exiting after successfully completing Year 3:
Level 7 Bachelor of Science in Computing with AI = 120 ECTS Credits, awarded by the Technological University of the Shannon.

Awarded after successfully completing Year 4:
Level 8 Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing with AI = 240 ECTS Credits, awarded by the Technological University of the Shannon.



About Tertiary Education Programmes

Launched in 2023, Tertiary Education Programmes are a new pathway to a bachelor’s degree. A joint further and higher education degree programme, tertiary education programmes begin in a local Education and Training Board Centre (College of Further Education and Training) and finish in a University. All tertiary education programmes lead to an NFQ level 7 or 8 degree.
