The Investigative person will usually find a particular area of science to be of interest. They are inclined toward intellectual and analytical activities and enjoy observation and theory. They may prefer thought to action, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems with sophiscticated technology. These types prefer mentally stimulating environments and often pay close attention to developments in their chosen field.

Career Progression

Graduates work across many biomedical based industries including diagnostics, medical devices, and biopharmaceuticals. They gain roles as technologists, lab and process assistants, instrumentation scientists, cell culture scientists and protein and drug analysts. There are also a number of non-lab based jobs critical to the drugs industry such are regulation and quality control and assurance.

Graduates may progress to Year 4 of BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science in ATU Sligo and complete one more year to graduate with an honours degree.
