Course Summary
The ME in Civil Engineering at University of Galway is a one-year, 60 ECTS Level 9 programme designed to meet educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Open to honours engineering graduates that hold an Engineers Ireland Level 8 degree in civil engineering, it builds on Galway’s strong tradition of accredited degrees, offering advanced study, leadership preparation, and professional progression. Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold at least a Second Class Honours, Grade 2 (H2.2) Level 8?primary degree in civil engineering, which is accredited by Engineers Ireland.
Those that don't fulfill this requirement, may be accommodated in the MSc, if they have the entry requirements for that.

An application requires a registration fee of €35. You will be asked to upload proof of identification, academic transcripts, a personal statement, an academic reference and documentation to fulfil the English requirement (where English is not your first language).

Postgraduate students in receipt of a SUSI grant—please note an F4 grant is where SUSI will pay €4,000 towards your tuition (2024/25). You will be liable for the remainder of the total fee. A P1 grant is where SUSI will pay tuition up to a maximum of €6,270. SUSI will not cover the student levy of €140.
