Course Summary
This module aims to enable the student to examine the drive for improving quality, safety and governance across healthcare systems worldwide that meets the needs of service users, healthcare professionals and providers of health services. The management of quality through the various stages of the quality management cycle, from needs assessment, analysis, as well, as measurement, performance (including patient experience), evaluation and improvement will be explored with an emphasis on governance, leadership and approaches used to drive and implement sustainable quality improvement.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a registered nurse on the Register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
OR
- Be registered on the appropriate allied health professional Register (for those required to register with a professional body)
AND
Be currently employed in healthcare or social care either in: clinical or social care practice/management/ research /education. Some modules may only be undertaken while working in a specific discipline related area such as nursing. This is specified in modules descriptions.
Applicants will normally have gained a primary degree (health science/studies or social science/studies related) level 8 or evidence of equivalent academic credits. Students who do not have the aforementioned will be required to compile a portfolio to provide evidence of their ability to study at postgraduate level.
- International students will require a degree of fluency in the English language. An overall score of 7 in the IELTS Academic Test is required.

When to Apply
Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.
For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpages.
