What were the main 'career decision' milestones in your life so far?

Travel - Taking up a role in Australia led me to get a Recruitment opportunity.
Location- Wanted to work in Dublin, enjoyed working in recruitment and wanted to move home.
Who are the people who most influenced your career direction?

Career guidance counsellor in school- Really enjoyed business in school, guided by the teacher to take HRM module.
Guidance Counsellor in college - Studying HR, helped guide me to recruitment sector.How did you go about getting your current job?

- Saw the job ad on LinkedIn – Applied
- Had a competency based interview
- Follow up coffee with two different team members
- Started in the role within three weeks of accepting
Describe a typical day?

- Main thing to note is ‘no two days are the same’
- Recruitment can change day to day
- One day – attending Grad Fairs, spending time meeting students and selling AIB as a great place to work
- Next day- Screening candidates, setting up interviews
- Next day- Making offers
- Works in cycles and this forms a typical day
What are the main tasks and responsibilities?

Find the best and brightest Gradates to bring into AIB- Purpose of the role.
Working with Marketing about how to brand and attract students.
Assessing results and interviews.What are the main challenges?

AIB is quite new back to the market in the Graduate Space – Playing catch up but we are very fast to do so.
What do you like most?

Variety of the role- couple of months is marketing strategy.
Being a brand ambassador for the bank.
Is there anything that isn't great?

Heavy administration process.

- Post Grad in Entrepreneurial Finance
What aspects of your education have proven most important for your job?

Degree – Sociology, how to deal with people, different areas in HR.
What have been the most rewarding events in your career so far?

- In 2018, I was promoted in role of Team Lead in Talent Acquisition

Does your job allow you to have a lifestyle you are happy with?

Brilliant Work/Life balance in AIB
Great flexibility for myself over the past few months due to personal reasons and I received amazing backing from my team at all levels to support me on this
Allowed me to have the balance I needed at that time.What advice would you give to someone considering this job?

- Have a passion for where you work – Selling AIB as a great place to work is a huge part of the job so you have to believe in it.

- People person

What is your pet hate at work?

Getting interrupted while you’re in the middle of doing something – Solution would be go to a quiet room or work from home.

Not at present but may look into doing a Masters.
