The scholarships are open to all current, full time, UL students or those who are applying to come to UL for the first time either through CAO or transferring at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Applicants must be a member of a national governing body of sport recognised by the Irish Sports Council, in the sport in which they are applying for a scholarship.

Dublin City University (DCU) is offering five postgraduate scholarships for entry in September 2025 to international protection applicants and refugees who are not eligible for state support. The MIC Undergraduate University of Sanctuary Scholarship Programme consists of an annual stipend of €3,000 and a full fee waiver participation for International Protection Applicants, refugees, and migrant groups. The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial support for those seeking international protection who have resided in the state for less than 36 months out of the last 60 months and who wish to undertake Undergraduate study at MIC. Full list of Undergraduate Programmes available to view here. Uversity’s Scholarships help to alleviate the financial barriers that may be preventing older students, aged 23 and over, from earning a bachelor’s degree for the first time. Since January 2018, Uversity has been offering Higher Education Scholarships for adult learners and to date, have awarded over 173 scholarships to successful candidates, to pursue bachelor's degrees (ordinary and honours) at higher level institutions on the island of Ireland.

Uversity’s scholarships are intended to unlock adult learners’ potential. (Uversity is the correct spelling so we didn’t make a mistake.) They aim to remove the financial barriers for someone who is doing a degree for the first time. Scholarships are not limited to particular subject areas. They will enable people who are 23 years or older to complete a degree in one of the colleges taking part in the Republic of Ireland or in Northern Ireland. Mature students are classified as students who will be over 23 years of age on 1 January in the year of admission. Its scholarships help to alleviate the financial barriers that may be preventing mature students from earning a bachelor’s degree for the first time. Uversity provides two levels of financial support; €5,000 or €7,000 per annum. Payments are made monthly over the course of the degree programme and are subject to continued academic registration and progression.
