Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. Springboard+ in 2021 continues to have a dual focus of upskilling and reskilling people who remain out of the workforce and on upskilling those in employment. The University has received funding from Government and industry to provide a programme to encourage higher participation rates in STEM subjects to Leaving Certificate and in STEM careers. Holders of Level 6 STEM Passport awards will be eligible to apply for concessions of up to 60 points for MH304, MH601 and MH602 Engineering and Computer Science degrees. Places will be awarded on a competitive basis. There is a quota of places in each degree and the places are awarded based on merit (i.e. points attained).
