RCSI is delighted to be listed as one of the Irish higher education institutions whose students are eligible to apply for Opens in new windowUversity financial support. Uversity offers financial scholarships to mature students, resident on the island of Ireland, who are planning to undertake their first undergraduate degree from 2025. Mature students are classified as students who will be over 23 years of age on 1 January in the year of admission. Its scholarships help to alleviate the financial barriers that may be preventing mature students from earning a bachelor’s degree for the first time. Uversity provides two levels of financial support; €5,000 or €7,000 per annum. Payments are made monthly over the course of the degree programme and are subject to continued academic registration and progression. Mature students applying to Carlow College, St. Patrick’s can now apply for the Higher Education Scholarship for Adult Learners through Uversity .
Uversity’s Scholarships will provide financial support to individuals 23 years or older who wish to purse a Bachelor’s degree provided by Carlow College, St. Patrick’s. Aside from the direct costs of tuition, fees, books and IT there are day to day living costs such as childcare and transport to be taken care of to enable full-time education. The Uversity Scholarships take account of each individual’s circumstances and aim to provide full financial support for the full period of study. 
The Scholarship will cover some or all of the following costs: 
  • Registration & tuition fees 
  • Pre-enrolment education assessments if required 
  • Laptop, books and other materials 
  • Wifi and telephone access 
  • Transportation 
  • Childcare/Family support 
  • Living expenses e.g. accommodation/maintenance etc.

Applications for the 2025 Wallace Family Scholarship are now open - Apply HERE The Wallace Family Fund for Engineering was established in 2016 by engineer Paul Wallace, a graduate in 1958 from Bolton Street. It was with the financial support of a generous donor that Paul himself had the opportunity to study engineering at the then Dublin Institute of Technology. He went on to have a long and fruitful career as an engineer in both industry and academia. Sadly, shortly after establishing the fund Paul passed away at his home in the United States. The aim of the Wallace Family Scholarships for Engineering is to award talented and committed students who will make their mark on the world of engineering. 1 new student is chosen for two years of support of €4,500 for their 3rd and 4th year of study. Students interested in applying for the Wallace Family Scholarship will be asked to demonstrate academic performance, their engagement with the world of engineering outside of the class room as well as their articulate their future career aspirations.

This bursary of €10,000 is being offered in memory of the late Niamh Burke by her former firm Arthur Cox and her family. Over a 20-year career Niamh advised on some of Ireland's largest energy, infrastructure and construction projects making an impressive mark on the industry. This bursary aims to foster and support further ambition in this sector.

The bursary was established in 2020. The fund is administered on behalf of Arthur Cox and her family by Wind Energy Ireland. It is intended the bursary will be offered each year  (2020 - 2024).
 
Entry Criteria and Process
Applications are invited from students wishing to study in the renewable energy field in Ireland, at Postgraduate level.

All relevant disciplines are open for application - law, economics, engineering, modelling, policy and others. In the event that more than one person is selected, the bursary monies will be split between the successful applicants.
