The Trinity Sport Scholarships are in place to support talented student athletes in the pursuit of their sporting and academic goals. The programme enables students to balance their academic and sporting commitments through a structured network of support services and expertise.

The value and benefits of each sports scholarship is assessed on an individual basis and will dependent on the athlete’s achievements, potential and need requirements

One scholarship to the value of 8,000 euro. The deadline for applications for the scholarship is July 16th, 2023. The outcome of the process is expected to be announced by end of July 2023. In addition, one must separately submit an application for the M.Phil. in Christian Theology, using the central Trinity College application system. The closing date for applications is July.

The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy has developed a prestigious scholarship programme - The Grattan Scholars - with the aim of advancing high-quality social science research and teaching in Trinity. Scholarships are awarded to PhD students of outstanding talent from around the world.

Meet The Grattan Scholars

The Hamilton Scholars aims to produce a cohort of exceptional PhD students whose work is expected to have a significant international impact in their chosen area of specialisation.

The Trevor West Scholarship is awarded to exceptional athletes who have shown outstanding contribution to sport at Trinity and engagement with their relevant club. The scholarship provides support services and a bursary of €1,000.

Open to students of limited means and who are natives of county Kerry. They are granted to qualified candidates on the basis of their public examination results and are tenable for two years.

This scholarship is open to EU and Non-EU postgraduate students undertaking studies on MSc Law and Finance degree programme. Only applicants that have received a conditional or unconditional offer for a Masters or Postgraduate Diploma programme at Trinity Business School are eligible for one of our partial scholarships.  

The Trinity Research Doctorate (Sanctuary) Award is open to applicants in the Irish international protection system, including those seeking asylum, with temporary protection, with refugee status or permission to remain in Ireland on humanitarian grounds. Applicants must have received an unconditional offer for admission to a full-time PhD in Trinity College Dublin with the support of a Principal Supervisor.  These scholarships cover:

• Tuition fees for a four year (full-time) structured PhD programme/research doctorate.
• An annual tax-free stipend of €25,000.

Trinity – Intake Taiwan Joint Scholarship Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin and Intake International Education Group (Taiwan) have launched an exclusive joint scholarship for the fall of 2024 to encourage Taiwanese students to study abroad. Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin and Intake joint scholarships are open to Taiwanese students who enrol in a programme in Trinity for September 2024. Students who apply for the International Foundation programme, a bachelor’s degree, higher diploma or master’s degree (except master’s in business) are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Award: €3,500 deducted from the first year of tuition fees.

Trinity College Dublin University of Sanctuary Undergraduate Scholarships are available to students in the Irish International Protection system, who have taken the Leaving Certificate or further education qualifications (e.g., FETAC level 5/6), and are offered a place on an undergraduate course in Trinity through the CAO. These scholarships cover:

• Academic fees for duration of undergraduate degree  
• Annual stipend (paid in monthly instalments)  
• A laptop  
• On-campus food allowance

The scholarships are open to people in the international protection system, including refugees, asylum seekers and people with leave to remain who are seeking international protection in Ireland and who wish to undertake their undergraduate studies at Trinity.

Uversity’s Scholarships are for adult learners who wish to complete a Bachelor’s (Ordinary or Higher) Degree, for the first time, that will help transform their lives and the lives of those around them. Applications for forthcoming Academic Year open in February.
