This short course aims to develop the student’s experience of independence in relation to travel. It aims to develop the students' knowledge of the world around them and help with both social and practical skills. During the course students will learn more about their home, their school and the wider community as well as improve their knowledge of other cultures.
This Junior Cycle Level One Learning Programme requires approximately 100 hours of learning.
This Short Course has four strands: Home is Where my Heart is, A whole New World, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and Bon Voyage. At all times, students are encouraged to develop independent living skills to the greatest extent possible, which will serve them both now and in the future.
