Successful students will be awarded a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Software Development. All students complete a two week work experience placement as part of their studies on this course.

A minimum of 8 modules must be completed for certification made up of mandatory and electives, see opposite list. Choice of modules is decided by CCFE and subject to annual staffing/college resources.

The BSc in Software Systems Development is a three year ordinary degree course. This course aims to provide students who have completed the Level 5 Computer Science/Computer Systems and Networks courses (or equivalent) with the opportunity to design, develop, secure and test software components for computer network systems. The BA (Hons) in Sound Design aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in sound design, programming, and implementation, relevant to the audio-visual industry related to games and interactive media.

By balancing sound design and implementation skill development alongside teamwork and entrepreneurial skills, the BA (Hons) in Sound Design will also encourage students to develop skills in research, critical reflection, and communication. This course focuses on the technical aspects of immersive sound design for film, specifically in post-production for film production and episodic narratives. You will gain proficiency in advanced spatial audio techniques, editing, mixing for various formats, including stereo and Dolby Atmos, as well the use of dialogue, background, foley, sound effects, and music.

This Sound Engineering and Music Production course is focused on providing students with the essential knowledge, industry experience, contacts and opportunities required to succeed in the music industry. This includes access to Sound Training Productions, a recording and production company led by graduates and students, which offers unrivalled, unique opportunities and links with key contacts in the music industry.

The student will leave the course with a comprehensive on-line portfolio and a distinct awareness of the areas in which to promote this.
