The Archaeology, Folklore & Heritage Studies course is particularly suited to school leavers and adults with an interest in cultural and heritage studies who wish to return to education. Students will be introduced to key areas of Irish Archaeology, Folklore, Local History and Heritage studies, enabling them to pursue employment opportunities in the tourist industry. There will be several field trips to places of archaeological, historical, and cultural interest including museums, ancient sites and areas of archaeological interest.

This four year programme enables students to become architectural technologists with additional advanced skills in Building Information Technology (BIM). Students will become competent in the ‘science of building’ and the production of construction drawings and specifications for complex building types, allowing them to become technical members of construction design teams.

You will study the design of heating and cooling systems for buildings, electrical and energy supply and use, and water supply and disposal. This one-year Higher National Certificate prepares students to work alongside architects and engineers by teaching construction fundamentals like CAD, Surveying, and Design. Learners engage in realistic studio projects, using the latest software to visualize buildings from inception to completion. The program also includes practical study trips to further investigate professional architectural technology in the field.

This fully funded Traineeship provides a variety of modules which relate to the design/ drawing/CAD/IT skills required within the construction sector. This course is suitable for learners who wish to further their career in this industry and will enable them to make an immediate contribution in the workplace.

The BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Management course is based on a modular structure across two semesters and is available as a four year sandwich course (although students with the necessary industrial experience may be exempted from placement).

The course is also available in a part-time mode of study which involves students taking the course over five years (there is no placement year), and attending and completing all modules alongside the full-time students. The course leads to the degree of Bachelor of Science with Honors in Architectural Technology and Management.

The DPP (Diploma in Professional Practice) is awarded on successful completion of an approved industrial placement year.
