This course offers a Single Honours Archaeology degree programme with an additional Spanish language qualification.

Archaeology explores a wide range of evidence that documents the human past – from artefacts, monuments and settlements to entire landscapes – and from these interprets how societies have adapted and developed.

The Archaeology, Folklore & Heritage Studies course is particularly suited to school leavers and adults with an interest in cultural and heritage studies who wish to return to education. Students will be introduced to key areas of Irish Archaeology, Folklore, Local History and Heritage studies, enabling them to pursue employment opportunities in the tourist industry. There will be several field trips to places of archaeological, historical, and cultural interest including museums, ancient sites and areas of archaeological interest.
