This course is designed for those who wish to work as professional construction managers in the construction industry. The 4-year programme was developed to enable learners to become construction professionals which are abreast of technological developments in the Construction sector such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), sustainability and surveying techniques.

The course aims to create for the learner a multi-discipline environment in which real life projects are worked on. The subjects covered give a wide range of expertise pertinent to the construction industry allied with more general business and management modules.

Construction Management is all about managing the construction process and meeting the needs of clients within legal, financial and environmental constraints. Construction Managers require a combination of engineering knowledge, good business and organisation skills and a capacity for leadership in managing the building process. You will develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the construction process and the necessary theoretical knowledge to match solutions to construction problems; the management skills to plan, organise and manage construction projects and the ability to contribute to the construction process in a manner that sustains and enhances the natural and the built environments.  

The main aim of the course is to give you the skills to take projects from design to reality. The course will provide you with a broadly based management and technological education so that you are capable of recognising, evaluating and solving constructional and business problems associated with building and civil engineering projects. The course will teach you how to adapt to technological change in a competitive industrial climate.

This foundational course prepares students for construction industry apprenticeships—such as carpentry, electrical, or plumbing—as well as progression to third-level degrees in construction, architecture, and engineering. Alongside core building trade skills, the curriculum heavily emphasizes green building technology and sustainability, providing hands-on training in renewable energy, solar/photovoltaic panel installation, insulation, and domestic building retrofitting. Graduates leave equipped with the modern, eco-friendly skills needed to enter directly into employment or advance to higher education.

The BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management and Applied Technology equips graduates with the skills needed to effectively manage project cost, scope and timelines for an ever-changing national and international construction industry. This programme blends traditional practical skills including carpentry and joinery, with modern construction approaches, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Lean Construction. Graduates develop an appreciation for design/planning on small scale workshop projects right up to Virtual Modelled buildings where collaboration is essential through digital technologies.

This course has a unique blend of subject areas which enables you to use a hands-on, practical approach to classroom learning. It gives students a taste of all the main construction trades including carpentry/joinery, renewable energy systems, electrical, plumbing and block laying sectors of the construction industry. This comprehensive Construction education course is designed to equip learners with the latest techniques, tools, and technologies shaping the modern construction industry..

This Pathways programme takes place with the employer and equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge with training and practical experience in the working environment. In addition to further developing the skills and knowledge gained during the off -the -job training elements, the learner will have the skills, knowledge and competency to work independently and under supervision is a range of construction industry contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.  When completed the learner will have gained a broad foundation of knowledge and skills across the different construction disciplines especially those in carpentry, shuttering, blockwork and plastering. In addition, the mathematical and soft skills learned through the mathematics, communications and work experience modules will ensure that the learner progressing to an apprenticeship have the desired quality, suitability and competency for the courses.

Erasmus+ Work Placement in Europe
Selected students will have the opportunity to apply for three-week work experience project in a European city where they can experience another culture; learn the basics of another language and enhance professional and personal knowledge and training. This course includes the cost of travel and accommodation of participants.

This full-time one-year programme will introduce students to the world of Construction. The programme examines construction materials and safe methodologies, with emphasis on sustainable energy efficient dwellings and green technologies. Students will also attend training workshop, where they will examine a range of different construction methods, calculate the quantities of material required to construct a domestic dwelling, create AutoCAD drawings and experience first-hand the application of renewable energy technologies.

This one year Construction Technology/Civil engineering will introduce you to the skills of construction and civil engineering which may allow you to progress to construction, architecture and engineering courses in Higher Education or proceed directly into employment. The course is designed to provide students with a hands-on introduction to the broad range of the skills required to work in the construction industry Students are prepared for entry to degree programmes related to the construction industry or for apprenticeships in construction related areas.

This course is aimed at people who wish to embark on a career or gain qualifications in the construction industry, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy technology. It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills associated with environmentally sustainable building and construction technology. The course enables students to develop practical skills in the areas of building construction and wood fabrication.

This one year Construction Technology: Renewable Energies and Engineering course will introduce you to the skills of environmental construction and civil engineering, which may allow you to progress to construction, architecture and engineering courses in Higher Education or go directly in to employment. The course provides students with a hands-on introduction to the broad range of the skills required to work in the construction industry. The course also prepares students for entry to degree programmes related to the construction industry and prepares students for apprenticeships in construction related area. 

This Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Trades programme is the perfect foundation for anyone seeking employment as an apprentice in the construction industry. This Pre- Apprenticeship will introduce you to areas such as carpentry, electrical and plumbing, and working with our Construction and Building experts, you can develop a broad range of skills that support progression to a range of careers.

Completing this pre-apprenticeship will give you a competitive edge when applying for apprenticeship jobs. The skills and knowledge that you learn on this pre-apprenticeship will help you progress quickly through your learning and qualification as a formal apprentice. You will learn practical construction skills and detailed underpinning theory through ‘hands on’ projects.

The new and exciting Contemporary Applied Art Degree course explores contemporary ideas, use of materials and offers students the opportunity to creatively develop and make objects.

The course combines studio projects and practical workshop based sessions, where idea development and making are integrated. Students have a base studio, where individual and group tutorials, crits, and presentations take place. The programme is staffed by practicing professionals, and visiting lecturers who regularly contribute specialist expertise.

The BA Contemporary Dance programme is designed to develop your contemporary dance skills and knowledge of your dance practice, as well as to include other forms of artistic expression.
