This course aims to provide students with the skills and training to enable them to pursue a career in the computer industry and in particular, in the areas of Computer Programming (Learning to Code) and Software Development with particular emphasis on ‘Cloud’ Computing. Information Technology is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Irish Economy, with particular growth in the field of computer-based services and Software Development. Successful students will be awarded a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Software Development. All students complete a two week work experience placement as part of their studies on this course.

A minimum of 8 modules must be completed for certification made up of mandatory and electives, see opposite list. Choice of modules is decided by CCFE and subject to annual staffing/college resources.

This is a full-time course for students interested in a career in music/ sound engineering/ music promotion and journalism. The course examines the music industry with a particular emphasis on visual and sound technologies and music production as well as audio production for film and the games industry. Students have access to an on-campus sound recording studio and radio production facility as part of their training programme.

This Sound Engineering and Music Production course is focused on providing students with the essential knowledge, industry experience, contacts and opportunities required to succeed in the music industry. This includes access to Sound Training Productions, a recording and production company led by graduates and students, which offers unrivalled, unique opportunities and links with key contacts in the music industry.

This course provides a combination of practical and theoretical tuition in all aspects of sound engineering and music production and is delivered by staff who are working producers, musicians and DJs.There are 3 streams: this one is especially suited for students who want to focus on music production or sound engineering. This course features a high level of training in a wide range of industry-standard music production software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Adobe Audition. You will also gain practical experience setting up and running sound for live performances, radio and podcast production and location recording.

Learners are given the opportunity to pursue a career in DJ’ing, radio production and sound engineering. The course aims to provide the learner with the skills to develop their own natural abilities in music production performance and radio broadcasting.
