This course aims to produce graduates with the skills needed for employment as technicians/technologists or scientific personnel in the fields of technology and physics, with a particular emphasis on the applications of physics in industrial and environmental contexts, including the science underlying renewable energy and sustainable technologies.

This course has been designed with the needs of industry in mind, graduates can expect to work across a variety of industries, including but not limited to, manufacturing, transportation, consultancy, distribution services, and the health and pharmaceutical sectors.

This is a one-year, full-time programme that provides an introduction to digital content creation and influencing. Successful applicants will gain insight into the ever-expanding world of digital content and advertising, online journalism, influencing and podcasting. This course may be attractive to students and established business owners, who are looking to gain skills in online marketing and advertising, or those wishing to establish an online following with new content ideas. 

The course introduces students to the following industry standard software: Adobe Creative Suite & Canva Professional. Students have access to the new Digi-Hub containing iMacs, VR glasses, portable green screens, podcasting and other technology.

Information & Communication Studies (ICS) equips you with the knowledge, skills, and tools to help you to make sense of a world where every aspect of human experience is affected by digital technology, media, data, and information in all formats. ICS explores digital information, social media, and communication and analyses their effects on societies, culture, politics, privacy, health, education and the many different spheres of public, private and personal life.

The curriculum focuses on rebuilding confidence through three essential pillars: modern computer literacy, functional mathematics, and professional communications. By bridging the gap in digital and academic skills, the course provides a supportive environment to refresh your knowledge and master the tools required in today’s technology-driven world. 

The programme emphasizes practical application through industry partnerships, live projects, and case studies drawn from real information systems and digital transformation initiatives. Students will work on authentic challenges, from redesigning customer journeys for financial services firms to implementing AI solutions in healthcare settings.

Our BSc in Information Technology is not just about coding. Students of this course study the broad and expanding area of Information Technology (IT), including subjects in management science, computing, communications technology and human sciences. This level 8 honours DCU degree is delivered through online learning and so is more flexible than a full-time, or part-time, campus based programme.

SETU’s BSc. in IT Management provides a unique blend of Business and IT subjects which is viewed by industry as an essential element in the role of a modern IT manager. The course comprises of a significant amount of practical work. The BSc. in IT Management at Level 8 offered as a tertiary programme between SETU and KCETB, will provide learners with a breadth of transferable IT competencies.
