This Common Entry degree offers three Award Options:

• Outdoor Education,
• Outdoor Education and Therapeutic Applications,
• Geography and Outdoor Education.

These degrees offer a unique blend of academic learning and adventure sports training. Students explore outdoor education’s therapeutic, developmental, and educational aspects, while also studying Ireland’s natural and cultural landscape, health, fitness, group facilitation, recreation management, teaching, and psychology.

This programme combines an exciting mix of academic study and skills training in adventure sports. You will build an understanding of the developmental and educational role of outdoor education and you will study the Irish landscape, safety, communications and teaching.

In addition you will gain an extensive range of National Governing Body awards in adventure sports such as rock climbing, surfing, hill walking, sailing, snorkeling, caving and kayaking.

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge, skills and competence in a range of outdoor sport and recreation activities, to work under supervision in a variety of outdoor recreation contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.

Our BSc Paramedicine degree, offered by the College of Medicine and Health, will prepare you for work as a Paramedic practitioner in the pre-hospital environment. The course will provide you with a variety of modules in numerous settings including modules in theory and clinical practice.

In addition, you will participate in ambulance-supervised placements and multiple clinical settings such as emergency departments, coronary care units etc. 

This course introduces learners to Social Studies and Social Care work. The course provides an academic foundation along with the practical experience necessary for working in the area of Social Care. It is also ideal for those who wish to continue their studies by progressing to Level 6 or higher at Third Level.

This is a level 7, introductory programme for someone preparing for ministry leadership in the Church. It forms part of a person’s initial formation, preparing him/her for exercising the responsibilities of ministry, especially leadership in public prayer, pastoral care and spiritual accompaniment, and building and strengthening community.

This includes acquiring specialised skills to teach in diverse settings, provide effective catechetical and faith formation, and exercise responsible stewardship of parish personnel and resources.

These qualifications employ a holistic training approach, combining transferable soft skills with specialized technical expertise to ensure learners are industry-ready for the barista, pastry, and baking sectors. A central feature of the program is its focus on global sustainability, equipping students to address the critical environmental and ethical challenges currently facing the international hospitality industry.

This special purpose single subject award ensures that all students are competent in the production of bread, gateaux, pastries and desserts. Particular emphasis is placed on the scientific principles and production processes underpinning this discipline.

This course covers the essential skills required to progress your career in pastry, baking and desserts. This special purpose award is also suitable for anyone who has an interest in pastry, baking and desserts and wishes to advance their knowledge and skillset in a professional training environment. It is open to people of all culinary abilities.

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge skill and competence to work independently and under supervision in a science laboratory and to progress onto a Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship or a Laboratory Analyst Apprenticeship. Learners can also progress to a range of courses in higher education and training.
