In your third year, you’ll do a nine-month work placement and you also have the chance to study abroad. And of course, throughout the course, you’ll be able to contribute practically to reducing carbon reliance.

Environmental Studies with Business combines the study of sustainability and environmental issues with business areas such as accounting and applied economics. Businesses are now addressing environmental issues that are impacting our planet so now is a great opportunity to respond positively and link environmental change to the business sector. Successful graduates have the opportunity to progress to BSc in Sustainability in UCD (DN240) and a wide range of business degrees.

The aim of this one year full time course is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work in a supervisory role in a stud, or to progress to further or higher education and training.

On successful completion of this course learners will be awarded a 120 credit QQI level 6 Major Award in Equine Breeding.

This course is aimed at Post Leaving Certificate students who wish to gain specific skills relevant to the Equestrian Industry and in so doing, gain a recognised qualification. Students with a relevant level 4 vocational qualification will be considered.

Equestrian Experience is desirable and all applicants must be certified fit to ride and carry out work with horses in a practical environment.

The overall aim of the programme is to equip you with degree-level competence in the disciplines of Equine Science and a choice of professional studies in either Equitation* (the art or practice of horse riding or horsemanship) or Equine Business Management. Graduates of the programme contribute to the continued development of the horse industry through the application of their knowledge, skills and research in Science, Equitation and Business Management.

The Certificate and Diploma courses are suitable if you want to achieve academic qualifications before starting work in an area of horse-based or related industries. The programmes offer a broad base of learning in equine science, equitation and equine related business topics. This three stranded approach provides a strong platform for building a flexible career. In most semesters you will have a choice of module that allows you to align your studies with your personal interests and ambitions. Students who progress to the Diploma in Science (Equine Science) can choose to follow either a business or equitation specialist route. 

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work in a supervisory role in a stud, or to progress to further or higher education and training.

Delivered in partnership with Brennanstown Riding School, this course provides professional training for those seeking careers in the equine industry. The curriculum covers essential vocational subjects such as stable management, equine anatomy, and sport horse riding, alongside core workplace skills like customer service and animal welfare. Graduates are prepared for immediate employment or can progress to a Level 6 Horsemanship award through Teagasc or various PLC colleges.

This one-year course will prepare students for the ever- expanding Irish equine industry and provide students with the knowledge and skills relating to the horse industry.

This course will enable the student who loves horses to pursue a career in the horse industry or continue their studies at third level in the equine area.

This course provides learners with a strong foundation in equine care, handling, and management. Learners engage in hands-on learning with horses several times a week, focusing on areas such as stable management, horse handling, riding skills, equine nutrition, health and safety, veterinary and welfare best practice.

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work in a supervisory role in a stable with sport horses or race horses, or to progress to further or higher education and training.

The ESE Academy (E-Cubers) has partnered with the University of Limerick (UL) to deliver Ireland’s first Equipment Systems Engineering apprenticeship at level 9 (MEng).

This Apprenticeship programme provides experienced engineers with a comprehensive framework to manage the implementation of Industry 4.0 innovations in their employer’s equipment. This two-year MEng, in conjunction with vibrant Communities of Practice (CoP), provides an ideal framework for the apprentice to comprehensively and efficiently evaluate both disruptive and sustaining innovation solutions. After they have qualified as Equipment Systems Engineers (ESEs), learners will be able to remain engaged with the CoPs throughout their long and productive careers.

This course is designed to equip the students with essential business skills. It not only provides the learners with the administrative and IT competencies required in today’s workplace but also fosters the development of transferable skills that are highly valued by employers.

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to plant, grow and maintain a range of flowering plants within a range of horticultural environments. Throughout the programme learners will be required to prepare, plant and maintain within a variety of settings including carrying out maintenance work on an established flower bed or boarder, design and plant a new flowering area and prepare hangding baskets and or window boxes.

On completion of this programmes participants will be able to complete an array of soft landscaping activities confidently.

The aim of this programme is to equip learners with the knowledge, skill and competency to achieve a QQI Level 4 in Establishing Trees and Shrubs 4N0666. Throughout the programme learners will learn major factors the affect the soil suitability, identify common problems to include assessing plant quality, pest and diseases, this should on completion allow learners to prepare an area for planting including soil preparation, applying compost, manure and fertiliser.

Learners will be able to plant a range of tress and shrubs correctly, training plants to grow, be able to water plants using a range of different methods, whiles maintaining to any health and safety issues.
