By utilizing a dedicated digital studio equipped with industry-standard software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, students gain the technical proficiency required for the competitive world of visual communications. Based on a solid foundation of Fine Art, this is a one year, full-time programme that introduces learners to the world of Animation. The elective elements include Animation Drawing Studies (5N1830) and Animation Layout Design (5N1552).

This one-year full-time practical course provides students with an introduction to the various forms of art and design. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to prepare a high-quality portfolio of work for entry into third level art and design colleges.

The Art, Craft and Design (ACD) course offers students the opportunity to explore the varied aspects of fine art, design and craft. Over the year students develop and enhance basic skills in drawing and design and transfer these skills into other areas of study such as ceramics, painting and combined materials amongst others. The student will finish the year with a comprehensive range of skills and a professional portfolio of work. They will also take part in a group exhibition where they get the opportunity to exhibit their work professionally.

The aim of this one year full time course course is to provide the learner with the opportunity to develop skills in a variety of traditional and modern art and craft disciplines including drawing, painting and ceramics as well as working with a variety of materials.

This one-year, NFQ Level 5 full time course equips learners with the skills and knowledge in Art and Design. Learners will explore, experiment and build on basic skills in a variety of media and disciplines. Drawing from observation is a core element as is the use of sketchbooks for research and creative thinking. This then leads to project work in other areas such as design, painting, print, ceramics and digital photography.This approach leads to the development of a varied and exciting project lead portfolio, essential in progressing to Art College.
