You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the identification, treatment and prevention of injuries that happen during everyday life, illness, physical activity, athletic training, and sporting events.

This degree combines areas such as performance testing, nutrition, physiology, strength and conditioning and biomechanics. Sports therapists provide a valuable service to the sports industry, specialising in the prevention and management of soft tissue injuries through manual massage techniques and electrical treatments. This course will also provide learners with the theoretical and practical knowledge to work in the fitness industry or to study at a higher level.

Stu­dents will study a range of sub­jects, with a particular emphasis being placed on anatomy, physio assistant theory and sports massage. Throughout the Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant (Year 1) course, students will be required to work alongside a variety of sporting organisations as part of their course work
