Our Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts is a full-time, three year programme for aspiring professional chefs. This is an advanced professional training programme for ambitious and talented aspiring chefs who wish to extend their culinary education far beyond general training.

This new Culinary Arts Programme provides graduates with the skills to cook at a high level of competence and to establish a base for further professional career development. This programme prepares students for work as professional chefs in the hospitality and tourism sectors. A chef will learn to be creative in the kitchen but also requires good business management and communication skills to organise and direct staff in the kitchen environment. A Culinary Arts qualification is a passport to travel and the programme is recognised worldwide. Currently, many of our graduates hold leading positions with some of the top hospitality brands in the world.

The QQI Level 6 Advanced Course at FET College Íde Finglas is a premier program designed for those ready to elevate their culinary expertise. This comprehensive curriculum spans advanced culinary techniques, professional pastry and baking, and the management of large-scale culinary events. This structure ensures that theoretical knowledge is immediately reinforced by real-world application in a professional kitchen environment.

This is a one year course ideally suited to the practically oriented student. On completion of this course, students sit QQI Examinations. Successful candidates will go on to further training in DIT or ITs. Students may also seek direct entry to the Catering Industry. Work experience forms an integral part of the course.

This is a one-year full-time advanced cookery course ideally suited to students who wish to expand and enhance their skills, knowledge, and creativity for a career in the Catering Industry. Students have the opportunity to achieve a solid grounding in specialised areas of Culinary Techniques, Food Safety Management and Producing a Culinary Event. This programme is designed to enable the learner find employment at entry level in the Hospitality and Food sector. The programme is largely skills based. As an entry level programme, the skills acquired will be sufficient to enable the learner to embark on his or her culinary career.

Culinary studies is a course designed to meet the needs of students who wish to pursue careers as professional chefs. The Higher Certificate in Arts in Culinary Studies is mainly practical in nature and is supported by theory subjects relating to the world of cookery..

The Cultural and Heritage Studies programme offers students a wonderful blend of exciting subjects along with an excellent range of organised cultural trips.

Throughout the year, students will participate in a broad range of interesting projects, field trips, cultural visits and guided tours e.g. Dublin Castle, National Museum, Kilmainham Gaol, Newgrange, Trinity College, National Library of Ireland, National Museum, Glasnevin Cemetery, etc. Course work will consist of a combination of onsite & online learning.

The Dublinia Cultural and Heritage programme, delivered in collaboration with the City of Dublin Education Training Board (CDETB,) is a QQI Level 5 Major award. The programme combines training and work experience over 11 months. There are nine certified modules including; History, Archaeology and Heritage. Participants benefit from familiarisation trips to other heritage sites around Ireland, work experience in Dublinia Heritage Centre, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and a site of the learners choice.

The programme is intensive and rewarding for the learner providing the practical experience and knowledge needed for employment in the Heritage and Tourism industry. On completion successful graduates have gained employment in the tourism industry and/or progressed to further studies.

Cultural and Heritage Studies programme at the National Print Museum is a City of Dublin ETB funded Local Training Initiative. Learners undertake a 50-week course as well as becoming tour guides at the Museum, and will gain a QQI Level 5 Common Award in Cultural and Heritage Studies.
