Our Bachelor of Science in Sports & Exercise with degree award options: Performance or Physical Education, is a four year programme that combines your passion for sports with a successful career progress through the course. Studying sport or exercise at third level is an opportunity to harness your passion and combine it with the knowledge to build a wonderful career in either sports performance or physical education studies. The first two years provide the core foundation of the degree, while the last two years allow you to specialise.

This programme allows you to use a scientific approach to analyse performance in sport and exercise and to develop academic and professional skills which you can use to find employment in this expanding field. Science subjects studied include physiology, biomechanics, psychology and nutrition.

This course gives students the academic, physical, technical, tactical & psychological knowledge necessary for the demands as a student athlete with particular emphasis on soccer coaching. In addition it offers a broad introduction to Sport, Exercise and Recreation studies, providing students with the necessary skills to take up employment at entry level in the leisure industry. This course aims to introduce students to Sport Studies, provide a practical and theoretical foundation to fitness training. Enable students to acquire National Governing Body (NGB) Coaching qualifications in a number of sports. Provide a foundation for students wishing to study Sports and Recreation at a higher level.

he BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching provides students (aspiring coaches) with advanced coaching techniques, styles, and education through a variety of sports (e.g. team, individual, outdoor pursuit), including inclusivity and disabilities. This multidisciplinary programme will ensure students learn effective coaching techniques and have a scientific understanding of anatomy, physiology, sport psychology, fundamentals of movement, talent development, and the ability to analyse and critique technique. The BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Performance is a four year honours degree programme that provides students with an advanced sport science education embedded with an applied coach education.
