This one-year course is an ideal entry level course for those interested in developing skills to work in the growing tourism sector in Ireland. This tourism programme has been designed to enable students to gain a broad understanding of the operations of the tourism industry and to facilitate their integration into the workplace or into further education and training. It also allows students to appreciate the opportunities presented by the web and eBusiness to successfully market products and services.  The event production element focuses on the management and production of corporate, leisure and cultural events.

This full-time Level 5 programme, accredited by QQI, offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes business administration, bookkeeping, event production, food preparation, and more. With a strong focus on practical experience and industry relevance, graduates will be well-prepared for immediate employment opportunities or progression to further studies.

The BA in Hospitality Management is awarded under the institution’s accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The degree may be taken on an accelerated track, which allows the student to complete the programme in three years by taking the internship components (normally taken in the second and third years0 during summer semesters. The blend of theory and the two semester-long internships give students the best of both the practical and academic worlds.

The programme provides a firm foundation of business courses in the first year, and subsequently offers two hospitality industry internships, a selection of interesting general education classes, and a range of courses examining aspects of hospitality management and its related fields in the international business, event management and tourism disciplines. In the course of the final year the student also completes a hospitality management research project.

This one year add-on Honours Arts Degree in Hospitality Management follows on from the Degree in Hospitality Management to give students an in-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry and generate superb employment opportunities. This Work-Based-Learning Hospitality Management honours degree programme will provide learners already working within the hospitality industry with advanced knowledge, skills and abilities required to grow their career within the wider tourism and hospitality sector; and contribute to the industry’s evolving needs through enhanced professionalism.

The programme is designed by theme with the course flow reflective of the career journey the learner will take, with an emphasis on Operations, Business Processes and Strategy. A central component is the incorporation of Work-Based-Learning (WBL) projects bespoke to the learner’s workplace, which utilises the workplace as a legitimate and immersive learning environment.

The term Hospitality Management is most commonly associated with Hotels but also includes careers in entertainment venues, restaurants, bars and casual-dining, event management and contract catering.

This four year course is designed to equip graduates with a broad range of business skills combined with a thorough knowledge of the hospitality environment.

The aim of this Hospitality Management degree is to develop the skills and competencies of students to become a supervisor or manager in the tourism sector. This three-year honours degree programme is designed to enable you to experience a broad education in hospitality and tourism studies. Career opportunities include roles in the hotel industry, bars and clubs, as well as cruise ships, airlines and catering companies. 

This is an exciting course, which includes a compulsory overseas work placement. You will study the full suite of topics related to managing hospitality at the highest level, including bar, restaurant, front office and food and beverage management. Tourism is one the largest indigenous employers in Ireland, with 230,000 people employed in the industry. Students take two work placements during this course, in the summer of 2nd year and in the summer of 3rd year.

By focusing on both front-of-house excellence and back-of-house efficiency, the program prepares learners for diverse entry-level supervisory roles within the hotel and catering industries.

This programme will give you the unique opportunity to study hospitality at QQI Level 5 and to gain valuable work experience in local hotels and restaurants. During the programme, you will get the opportunity to attend 10 sampling days in the Culinary Arts Kitchen and Training Restaurant in Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).

If you are enthusiastic about working in the tourism and hospitality sector, this course offers extensive customer service and front office reception skills training.

You will have a mixture of classroom-based modules, customer service skills and role play practice. You will have opportunities to develop skills such as teamwork, communications and time management. There will also be opportunities for relevant work experience. You will be expected to complete assignments and exams throughout the year. Course work will consist of a combination of onsite & online learning. Visits are also arranged to businesses and events during the year.

his Programme is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise essential for a senior managerial role within the hotel industry. Emphasizing a strategic perspective on managing people, it equips managers to comprehend the industry comprehensively.

The Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Hotel Management further enhances learners' core competencies, strategic acumen, and in-depth understanding of hotel management principles.

This programme offers those currently employed or seeking employment in the hotel industry the opportunity to pursue a degree in hotel management while simultaneously working with their sponsoring employer. Each year the programme will comprise of the delivery of 60 credits of study through a blended learning approach. This programme will require students to spend two blocks of four weeks per annum at MTU Kerry North Campus’ state-of-the-art facilities in the Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Department. During this period a number of modules will be delivered. The remaining modules will be delivered online and through work-based learning.

An exit award, the Higher Certificate in Hotel Supervisory Management, is available after successful completion of year two.
