The aim of this one year full time course is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge skills and competence to work autonomously and independently in a fine art context and/or to progress to higher education and training.

Learners have the opportunity to build on skills learned at Level 5 and produce a personal body of work, focusing on specific projects.

Applicants will demonstrate specialised knowledge across a range of fine art disciplines in 2 and 3 dimensions.

This QQI Level 6 course is designed for students who have completed level 5, or have already achieved the skills provided in level 5 and wish to go deeper in their practice. This course offers students an excellent opportunity to develop their creativity in a caring and professional environment. A team of teachers and professional artists lead the students in their experimentations, which helps them in building up confidence and skills.

All projects are broad enough to allow students to assemble a portfolio of work suitable to their particular interests - Fine Art, Design, Photography etc -, which they may use to gain access to diploma or degree course, (subject to achieving a QQI level 5 award).

This programme enables you to teach Art and Design at second level. It begins from the place of creative making in the studio setting where students are introduced to a variety of creative disciplines including; Fashion Design, Painting, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Animation & Motion Design, Printmaking and Contemporary Practice. Concurrent to this you will study educational theory and practice which will equip you with the teaching aptitudes and skills to enter into the profession of teaching Art and Design.

In this series of classes, you will have opportunities to explore practical, conceptual and ethical issues raised by endeavour of making art in the archive. You will debate the merits of different artistic and curatorial practices and you will meet archivists who are charged with making materials in their care accessible.

This is a portfolio preparation and general art course for students who wish to gain entry to a third level Art College in Ireland, the U.K. or abroad. The emphasis will be placed on the preparation of a balanced portfolio as well as developing skills in the art, craft and design areas. The portfolio, showing the student's individual sense of design and pattern, can use a wide variety of the modules covered on the course as well as the student's own interpretation of colour and design. Depending on the combination of modules a student can achieve a qualification in Fine Art or Design/2D.

This one-year course is a foundation course in art and design - the portfolio you make is the result of this year of study. You can then use this portfolio to gain entry to third level Higher Education art and design colleges in Ireland, the UK or even further afield. A foundation in art and design provides the fundamental knowledge and understanding of art and design processes to provide a good basis for further study in any related area. The programme works directly with an urban embedded novel ecology of the NCAD FIELD site. This taskscape acts as an outdoor classroom, a site for nature connection, commoning and a testing site for multi-species futures.
