In this Nanoscience course you will learn about the study of very small-things on a nanometer scale (one thousandth millionth of a metre). This is the scale of large molecules like plastics or proteins.

Nanotechnology includes the techniques used to create structures on a scale below 100 nm, which can be used in new generations of electronics, sensors and computer chips.

The UCD Science (DN200) course offers 27 degree subjects categorised into streams. Students can study subjects from more than one stream in first year. It is also possible for students to change their stream in first year.

In order to complete this element of the course, potential students are advised to hold or have applied for the security licence required under the Private Security Services Act 2004.
