This one year course is designed and is tailor-made to students who wish to progress in the animal area into a working life with animals. This course caters for experience with pet and farm animals. The farm animal aspect of the course is taught in the college but also on-site on a working farm in Dundrum.  Students also complete a one-week placement at an agricultural college in Tipperary to gain large animal farm experience. This is to ensure that students leave with practical hands-on experience with these species and will have the versatility to gain employment in either equine or farm animal businesses. Students gain a much greater understanding of the small animal industry in Ireland, including dog behaviour and advanced grooming. This means that students are ready for employment or equipped to set up their own animal enterprise.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the skill and knowledge to competently work independently in a fine art & design context or to progress to higher education and training.

This one-year QQI level 6 course in English & Business is suitable for students who have successfully completed the English & IT course at QQI level 5 or its equivalent. The aim of this course is to bring students from intermediate level English (B1) to upper-intermediate (B2).

All students who are accepted onto our ESOL level 6 course will study English intensively every week.  Students on this course will also study Communications and Personal Professional Development which are basically additional English language modules where you will learn how to express yourself well in writing and speaking. You will also learn advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

This course will enable the learner to develop key skills in accounting, marketing, human resources and management. Modules in Enterprise and Team leadership give the student the skills and knowledge required to work as an effective leader and member of a team, focusing on leadership, management, teamwork and communication skills.

This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector, or to progress to Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care and are enabled to put theory into practice through experiential learning. Regular field trips and the handling of a wide variety of animals are key features of this course.

This Advanced Certificate in Animal Science course is the ideal progression for those who have completed a QQI level 5 in Animal Care or who have had previous experience of working in the Animal Care sector. This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care enabling them to work with confidence in a variety of Animal Care settings. This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.

This Advanced Certificate in Business Management and Information Systems is designed to provide learners with a portfolio of skills required in the financing, planning, marketing and management of a small business. It provides a solid foundation in the skills, competencies and knowledge required to assess, plan, implement and evaluate a business structure.

This is year 2 of the Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Level 6). Learners can progress to this course if they have achieved the Early Learning and Care Level 5 award (Year 1) or if they have gone through an RPL process. This programme aims to meet the requirements of childcare supervisors and managers in relation to current childcare legislation and child protection legislation, as well as developing the core competencies required to work at managerial level.

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in the management and production of corporate, leisure, cultural, and religious events. The curriculum bridges the gap between creative vision and operational reality, equipping students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to seamlessly take an initial concept and materialize it into a live, successful event. 

This one year Management, Law and HR course will enable the learner to develop skills to work in a dynamic business environment. It will give the learner an insight into Management, Human Resources and Business law as well as finance and marketing. The course provide learners with a portfolio of skills required to work in the Business Management, Human Resource Management and Law areas of an organisation whilst also providing the necessary entry requirements for entry to Third level. It also gives the learner essential transferable skills that can be applied to a work environment, such as goal setting, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution. Business Management students may have the opportunity to apply for a three-week Erasmus+ Placement during the academic year where they may work in a European business organisation

The aim of the  course is toStudents will acquire up-to-date knowledge in the field Computer Science and Software Engineering. Students will gain skills in programming and problem solving. These skills will be developed over one year and allow the candidates to become proficient in many key practical areas of Software Development. You will learn C# using Microsoft's .NET Framework, creating your own computer programs to best practice.

This advanced software course is designed for students aiming to build a career in the high-demand technology sector, teaching the practical skills needed to design and construct software applications. Led by industry-experienced staff and supported by the FIT (Fast Track into IT) initiative, the program includes specialized training in CV preparation, interview techniques, and company visits for potential internships. Graduates are fully equipped to enter the workforce directly as IT professionals or progress into third-level education at an advanced level.

The Advanced Childhood Early Learning & Care course seeks to extend students knowledge in theoretical approaches and provides learners with the skills needed to work as a room leader/supervisor in a childcare setting.

Graduates can progress to degree programmes at third level or progress directly into employment in the childcare sector.

The course will provide aspiring technicians with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the manufacture of components such as Switchgear Systems, Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Air Handling Units.

Learners will gain hands-on experience in the design, assembly and production of these systems. The course prepares learners to work autonomously in the manufacturing of related components in various industrial and commercial applications.

This advanced QQI Level 6 program is designed for graduates of Equine Studies who wish to specialize in the breeding industry. The course provides in-depth expertise in equine reproduction, horse conformation, and pasture management, blending practical skills with high-level theoretical concepts. It serves as a vital professional stepping stone for those pursuing leadership positions or further higher education within the equine sector.

This one-year Level 6 course gives students the opportunity to further develop and enhance their skills in music and sound production. It is an ideal add-on for our Level 5 students, for students from other Level 5 courses, and for mature applicants (over 21) with relevant experience. Taught by professionals working in the industry, this course will prepare students for both further academic progression, and careers in the media, entertainment and music fields. Students will work with performers and musicians in a purpose built industry standard professional recording studio. Editing, mixing and production take place in a state-of-the-art all iMac digital sound production facility. All workstations are equipped with software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic Pro.
