The Performing Arts program provides a high-energy, creative environment where students can refine their craft in acting, auditioning, and technical stage production. The curriculum is built on the principle of creative collaboration, challenging students to work alongside peers to produce professional-grade performances while discovering their individual artistic strengths. A significant portion of the training takes place outside the traditional classroom, as students utilize various professional theaters and performance venues to gain practical experience. 

Students will be involved in all aspects of theatre, from acting, to performance, to make- up, to planning and staging an event. Students will deep- dive into the history of theatrical tradition and use this learning to create productions of their own. They will also learn about the main acting schools and disciplines and explore their own unique performance ‘voice’. The course is designed to explore and experiment with performance art genres, so that participants can progress confidently towards their goals and gain immense knowledge about their own creative identity, skills, and talents.

The Theatre Performance course has been providing excellence in drama training for over 30 years. This acting courses is designed to provide a dynamic and empowering approach to acting and musical theatre training for all students interested in a career in professional theatre, film and television. The courses are delivered by a dedicated and experienced team of tutors who are all active theatre practitioners.

Students perform regularly in studio presentations as well as mainstage productions. This vocational aspect of the course allows the student to develop their skills and confidence through experience in live performance.

This two year full-time acting course is focused on further developing the confi-dence, initiative and performance skills of the student along with their academic development.

The 1st year Level 6 students present a full-length Shakespeare play as their mainstage production. Students also get an opportunity to travel to Padua, Italy on a fully funded Erasmus+ Programme to study the music, mask and movement of Commedia Dell’Arte. Following the trip they perform a Commedia production devised with their director Matteo Destro, in Italy and then Ireland on completion of the program.

The end of the year is focused on the assessments for QQI level 6 components and further performance experience with the Trinity College London Grade 8 examinations in both Acting and Musical Theatre.

The 2nd year diploma students perform two mainstage productions during their final year. An Expressionist show in the first term that showcases not only their acting, but also their Musical Theatre skills.

The end of year graduate production is staged in Smock Alley Theatre. Potential employers such as casting directors, casting agents and industry professionals are invited to attend.

Students then complete their Level 6 award and preparation for the Solo Acting and Musical Theatre Associate Diplomas for Trinity College London at the end of the year.

The BTh is an immersion into the Christian intellectual tradition. Academically rigorous and intellectually engaging, this three-year full time degree provides students with a holistic formation in theology, especially within the Catholic theological tradition.

Learners delve into all major theological subdisciplines, including but not limited to the study of Scripture, moral theology or ethics, and systematic theology. Students receive a grounding in philosophy, languages, and the history of Christian thought and culture.

This course provides a solid intellectual foundation in Theology in conjunction with one or two other Arts subjects. A scholarly discipline in the liberal arts, Theology offers the space and skills necessary for asking about, exploring and reflecting on the ultimate questions of existence and life.

Theoretical Physics explores the natural world at its most fundamental level, using mathematical theories guided by experimental investigation. For some it is the foundation for an academic career in mathematics or physics.

For others it provides the basis for many career options in industry, medicine, law, finance and computing. Trinity provides a course which ranges widely across physics and mathematics. Its graduates are in demand for their technical skills and versatility.

Discover how to use play as a therapeutic medium to support children in overcoming challenging circumstances. This 3-month QQI level 6 Minor Award in Therapeutic Play Skills equips you with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply therapeutic play in early years and special needs settings.

This special purpose award is the new professional qualification for tour guides. The course is delivered through an integrated mix of on campus lectures, off site visits to key tourist attractions and self-directed learning.

The growing airline and tourism industry has a high demand for qualified workers and this course aims to equip students with the skills to work in this area. The link with the International Academy of Travel offers students an added opportunity to gain a recognised qualification valued by airlines. There are also opportunities to progress to third level education or employment within the Business, Tourism or Hospitality sectors.

This course focuses broadly on business and management subjects and more specifically on digital tourism marketing, to reflect the changing needs of the industry in light of technological advances.

The programme aims to provide students with strong operational, business, management and marketing skills to enhance their supervisory expertise.

Travel and Tourism is an exciting, dynamic industry that offers a broad range of job opportunities in airlines, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels and the hospitality sector, visitor attractions, venues and tourist boards.

This course, which has been running for 20 years, offers internationally- recognised industry relevant qualifications taught by an academic staff with relevant and diverse industry experience.

Many employers in the travel industry contact the college directly when recruiting staff. Work experience is an integral component of this course. Previous students have obtained work placements across the Travel and Tourism sector.

On this course you will acquire the knowledge and confidence to pursue a career in the dynamic and exciting Tourism Event Management industry. You will study business, marketing, entrepreneurial skills, and human resource management necessary for business and organisational skills.

You will develop the practical skills to design, plan, promote and deliver events ranging from corporate and wedding events in hospitality venues, to regional and national festivals at the forefront of Irish tourism.

Graduates in this area will gain employment in event and entertainment venues, national and regional tourism organisations, hotels and hospitality sector, public relations, festivals, conventions, sports venues, and developing and managing one’s own business in this area.
