Our BSc in Applied Psychology is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour. Applied Psychology is a scientific study especially concerned with the practical applications of the mind, behaviour and of mental processes in relation to everyday life. This one-year course is designed for those who have an interest in psychology and aims to give participants an introduction to the core theories and methodologies of psychology and prepare them for further study at third level.  On completion of the course, students will also have developed skills that are useful to careers in human resources, marketing, and public relations. This programme is ideal for both school leavers and experienced mature persons seeking a formal education.

Psychology is the scientific investigation of behaviour and mental processes. It aims to study how a person thinks, feels and acts in any social situation. The main emphasis is on the individual and how they can affect and be affected by social contact with other parties.

This one-year, NFQ Level 5 full time course is aimed at those who are passionate about science and who wish to continue their scientific journey. The course equips learners with the vocational skills and knowledge in Biology, Chemistry & Physics, to work independently and under supervision in a science environment and to progress to further and or higher education and training.

You will learn about the multiple causes of social oppression and ways of working with people with a variety of needs so they can be healthy, resilient and free contributors to a caring society.

This one- year Level 6 course offers a progression route for graduates of QQI Level 5 healthcare, childcare and psychology courses who wish to expand their knowledge of the areas of mental health and disability awareness.

Learners will learn about the needs of the vulnerable groups in society and the strategies, models and best practice programmes employed to support a more inclusive society of all.

Learners will also develop group facilitation skills which will enable them to work with the individual on a one-to-one basis or in a group-based context.

This is a two year QQI Level 6 course which examines the theory and practice of social studies and social studies. The wide range of modules offered enables students to gain a critical awareness of the way in which society works and provides the opportunity to investigate contemporary social issues and problems.

Modules encompass a mix of psychology, sociology and practice-based subjects. Learners are also enabled to improve their communication skills, self-awareness, critical reflection and interpersonal skills, all of which are central to working in social care. Students will engage in supervised work experience over the two years which provides practical knowledge, skills and competence for the field of social studies.
