The aim of this one year full time course is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a range of community health service settings or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

The one year Level 5 award enables the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a variety of healthcare settings. This enables them to enhance their role in provision to service users or to progress to further and or higher education and training.

This programme may be delivered through a blended (hybrid) learning model where learners will be required to attend on-site and online classes.

This course is aimed at learners who wish to gain an initial qualification in one of the many areas of social studies. On completion of the courses learners will have gained the following skills:

• Social skills - teamwork, negotiation skills, initiative, ability to deal with people, conflict management
• Information gathering – literature searches, report writing, interviewing, designing surveys
• Analysis and synthesis skills – editing and synthesising information from a variety of sources, reading critically
• Project planning – identifying steps, resources, solving problems, dependability, initiative and being able to work on several tasks at once, time management
• Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of people – cognitive, perceptual, physical, emotional, social, development, personality
• Numerical, IT, statistical and inferential skills, analysis and presentation
• Oral and written communication skills, listening, speaking etc.

The youth work course supports the development of youth work practitioners as professionals, with an enhanced understanding of societal impacts on young people. Emphasis on human rights, social justice and equality are central themes within the modules.

Combined with the development of desired skill sets such as IT, programme development, and understanding of sociology, psychology and relationships, this course aims to educate youth workers with critical, essential skills for the youth work setting.

A course designed for school leavers or adults who wish to become complementary health therapists and want to develop their interest in the field of complementary therapies. Learners will acquire a deep knowledge of complementary therapy theory and practice and a new understanding of how these fit into the wider context of the health science.

This course offers an opportunity to get internationally recognised CIBTAC qualifications in a range of therapies to engage in professional practice.

Level 3 Cert.

This course leads to the CompTIA A+ certification, which has very wide recognition nationally and internationally. The programme teaches computer maintenance and software support skills as well as networking skills. In addition to the A+, some vital QQI components are also certified on this programme.

This field of study leverages the power of big data, computer simulations, and social network analysis to gain insights into social phenomena and individual behaviour.

Acquire hands-on programming skills, advanced problem-solving techniques, and learning to think logically and analytically when approaching complex problems developing your creativity and communication skills. Study Philosophy (seeking to understand and analyse human knowledge and thinking) and advanced mathematics.

Students are given the opportunity to identify the components of a computer and learn how they work. As part of this course students, will be required to assemble and disassemble a personal computer (PC), troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems, and build and maintain a peer-to-peer local area network. Throughout the course there is a focus on the development of 'soft skills' such as problem solving, communications and team working. All subjects are taught in a career-focused and interactive way.

If you wish to enter the IT workforce, this course will introduce you to a range of computer applications. At the end of the course, you will be confident and proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Access. You will also learn how to design and produce both web pages and mobile applications using a range of software tools including those from the Adobe suite such as Adobe XD and Dreamweaver.

Over 80% of your time will be spent on the computer. This course will enhance your skills and knowledge to prepare you for entry level in the world of work in areas such as administration, sales, of-fice/secretarial work and technical support. This course will also enable you to progress to further or higher education.

Computer and software engineering involves developing new software and hardware for computers by combining the skills of both electronic engineering and computer science. They design, produce and test programmes, networks, chips, and processors.

Computer engineers play a vital role in the research, design, development and installation of computer hardware and software. Areas where computer engineers are employed include the mobile phone industry, gaming, medical devices, cloud technology, smart transport and energy management.
