The Level 6 Advanced Certificate is the Teagasc recommended education pathway for a technician. The two-year pathway incorporates the Level 5 Certificate and the Level 6 Advanced Certificate. The initial application should be made to the Teagasc Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture course.

The curriculum focuses on developing both the technical skills and theoretical knowledge required to meet the high standards of modern hairdressing. This one year course is aimed at those who would like to pursue a career in hairdressing. Subjects within the course are tailored to suit the hairdressing industry and include cutting, styling, colouring, Hair-upstyling, Hair Extensions wigs, perming, and barbering techniques.
