Many CAO applicants will know exactly what course they want to do, whereas others may be a little unsure what aspect of Business is best for them. To simplify the application process, TU have created one entry route for their Business courses, listed on the CAO as TU772 Business Options.

On the CAO the entry route is listed as TU772, with four options to choose from:

TU772 (BUS) Business
TU772 (BIT) Business with IT
TU772 (INB) International Business
TU772 (GEN) General Entry

For applicants who already know what area of business they would like to study, they can choose from Business TU772 (BUS), Business with IT TU772 (BIT) or International Business TU772 (INB).

Applicants who are unsure what area of Business is best for them can choose General Entry TU772 (GEN).

The course will provide you with the skills and attributes necessary to succeed in business anywhere in the world, reducing the barriers to travel and opening a world of career opportunities at home and overseas.

This course will provide you with a solid grounding in general business and competencies in key areas such as finance, economics and accounting.

You’ll gain knowledge and skills in a broad range of business-related modules, including Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing and Information Systems, and be able to apply this knowledge to different environments and industries. You’ll also develop good communication and writing skills.

The Higher Certificate in Business & Management is a two-year theoretical and practical introduction to fundamentals principles of business management. It seeks to provide those completing the course with a foundation for a career path in business management.

In this two-year course, you’ll gain the practical skills and knowledge required at junior executive level and be ready for further study. Subjects include marketing, behavioral science, business finance, communications, information technology, business and society, sales management, web design, marketing practice, management accounting, marketing communications.

This three-year honours degree programme gives students the best of both perspectives, combining a well- developed understanding of the world of general business and people management in the first two years of their studies, whilst also providing a strong HRM focus in the final year of the degree.

The Information Systems (IS) pathway of the BA (Hons) Business is designed to be specifically relevant to the modern business environment in which the role of information systems has become increasingly important.

This IS pathway aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge and competences in the use of systems and related-technologies to control and manage organisational data and information.

The 3 year Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree equips graduates to succeed on the global business stage by enabling them to be forward thinking and have the capacity to act as catalysts for growth in organisations. This degree reflects the intrinsic need to develop the next generation of leaders who understand how to manage innovation and drive an organisation forward in the digital age.

This three-year programme engages learners in all key marketing disciplines while also giving them grounding in broader business disciplines. The programme gives learners the opportunity to develop marketing skills and gain an understanding of business. This three-year degree produces graduates with a blend of business-related knowledge and skills. Graduates are equipped with knowledge in core business areas. Individual and group projects are an integral part of the programme which develop skills required for business such as analysis, team work, presentation and professional business skills. This degree will position students for jobs at graduate entry level in business or the option to continue their studies in a broad range of business disciplines.

This four-year full-time course offers you a broad range of business skills combined with a thorough knowledge of the financial and economic environment in which firms operate. On graduation, you will have developed personal and professional skills which will give you the confidence to start a successful business career, in Ireland or overseas.

Our Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting degree adds up to a successful career in the world of accounting and finance. Few careers can be more fulfilling or exciting than accountancy. Our accounting courses attract the maximum exemptions from the examinations of professional accountancy bodies including ICA, ACCA, CPA and CIMA (subject to annual review). Graduates will also have the opportunity to progress onto the MA in Accounting which offers even further significant exemptions. 

Students on this course will acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in a wide range of business subjects including management, marketing, finance, statistics and economics. Enabling students to work independently or in a supervisory capacity in a variety of business contexts and/or progress to higher education and training.
